For small and medium gears, precision is everything. An error of just a few microns can mean noise, vibration, or premature failure.
At Taizhou Ruijue Machinery, we have spent 13 years perfecting our machining process for parts with diameters up to 150mm and lengths up to 300mm. Here is how we consistently achieve DIN 6 precision:
1. Material Selection Most of our gears are made of 20CrMnTi. Why? Because of its stable hardenability, which means predictable heat treatment results with zero surprises.
2. Gear Hobbing Before heat treatment, we perform rough gear hobbing, leaving a 0.15mm grinding allowance. This ensures any subsequent deformation from heat treatment can be completely eliminated.
3. Heat Treatment Control We use carburizing at 920°C followed by quenching. Our specialized tooling supports the shaft components every 100mm to minimize bending. The result? Post-heat-treatment runout is controlled within 0.05mm.
4. Precision Grinding This is the key process for achieving DIN 6 accuracy. We grind the gear profile and then grind the bearing seat in the exact same setup/chucking. Concentricity? Controlled within 0.02mm.
5. 100% Inspection Every critical dimension is rigorously inspected. Every single gear is measured, and each batch is delivered with a full inspection report.
